After releasing a brand new single in January, Cairns group The Taste are keeping the party going, joining Crossroads for a night of groove at the Herbert Hotel this Saturday (11th March).
The Hands Of comes two years since The Taste’s last single release, but the boys haven’t lost their touch – the catchy track fuses the band’s eclectic funk and hip-hop styles into a beast that is sure to make you want to dance.
The Taste guitarist, Mitch Sullivan, said travelling back to Townsville following the release was inevitable.
“We played at The Herbert last year and it was an amazing gig. A really great vibe and very appreciative audience, so we all jumped at the opportunity to do it again. We’ve played a few times in Townsville over the last two years and we’ve always been well received, so it’s a pleasure for us to visit and share our music,” said Mitch.
“It’s been two years since our last release so it’s been really great for us to have something new and fresh out there. We’re pretty pleased with how it’s been received. The track was recorded in Townsville at The Rec Room with Luke Green and Sam Wright who both did an amazing job.”
The Taste will be playing alongside Townsville groovers Crossroads next weekend, with the possibility of a few other guest performers in the mix as well.
“We’re actually going to have a jam at the end of the night with all the acts collaborating on a couple of songs, so that should be fun! We are all big fans of Crossroads so there definitely could be some song collaborations on the menu in the future.”
And for people who don’t know what they’re in for?
“A complete genre mash of funk, rock, soul and hip hop. We’ll be playing some new upbeat material which should get everyone up and dancing. We’re all really looking forward to it!
