Exciting news for up and coming musos, with the return of Battle of the Bands this June.

Event organiser Rachel Cook said the Battle would give young people a great opportunity to perform on a professional stage and receive feedback directly from Townsville’s amazing pool of local musicians.

“Battle of the Bands will give young people links to other youth music events and even paid opportunities as they arise,” said Rachel.  “There are some awesome prizes, too, including studio time at The Rec Room, gift vouchers from Arties Music and possible gig bookings.

“We are planning to resurrect ‘Untitled’ later in the year so this will see more opportunities for young bands to perform and build their audience.

Battle of the Bands will be a key component in The Youth Network’s Operation X event, which will also include a Skate Competition and some other activities, still in the works. All bands who have members aged 12 – 25 can enter.

Operation X will be held on 24 June at Murray Skate Park. For more info, visit the Youth Network NQ’s Facebook page or email Rachel.cook@theyouthnetworknq.org.au
