The Burdekin’s best singers and dancers will be showcased this weekend as the Fast Track Talent Showcase returns for its fourth year.

The event, which invites locals to perform in front of a panel of Fast Track talent scouts and includes a live performance by 2015 X Factor winner Cyrus, will take place at the Burdekin Theatre all day tomorrow.

Organiser Tammy Quagliata said the event was an exciting opportunity for local performers to be appreciated on their home turf.

“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of the participants, so it’s great to have people coming to our district and giving them the opportunity to perform here in town. The talent scouts love coming up here, and it’s something different to what they see in the cities,” Tammy said.

“This is the fourth year we’ve run Fast Track – it’s very similar to X Factor or Australia’s Got Talent where we have heats during the day, it’s open to all genres of talent, and then the top 20-25 go through to the final showcase at night when our $2,500 worth of cash and prizes is up for grabs.

“We have over 45 entrants already this year, which is a record number. There’s a lot of our previous entrants returning as well as some new faces, which is really exciting.”

Catch the Fast Track qualifying heats at the Burdekin Theatre from 11am tomorrow, before the finals – including a performance by Cyrus – from 7pm tomorrow night. Click here for tickets
